Description
This is a blend of 60% Gewürztraminer and 40% Muscat, with four days of initial skin contact, then pressed off and fermented spontaneously. It’s bottled before fermentations stopped, to allow the CO2 to build naturally in the bottle — hence its identification as pétillant-naturel or natural sparkle. The wine is a dense, cloudy, pink-orange colour in the glass, with funky sulfites that blow off quickly, followed by bright floral, lemon and grapefruit notes. The palate is fresh and layered, dry and crisp, as the acidity cleans up the funk and focuses the fruit.
