Description
l Palmar Valley is a hidden and forgotten corner in the northwest of Tenerife. For centuries, the walls of the valley and the difficult accessibility through a road that zigzags palm trees and farming plots have isolated this remote place where the essence of the island has remained unchanged.
The hillsides of the valley extend to the highest part of Teno’s massif. With almost 1000 meters of altitude, this part of the island emerged from the depths of the Atlantic ocean eleven million years ago. It was a lonely islet until other volcanic eruptions formed progressively the island of Tenerife.
Tintilla, Vijariego Negro, Baboso Negro and Bastardo grow in rhythm with the abandoned and wild nature of the valley, whistled by the winds that leak into the valley through the aperture it has towards the north.
